On this web page you will be able to apply for a position with Albemarle County Public School's Extended School Year Program that operates every summer.

Students eligible for extended school year services are provided special services that target critical life skills that must be maintained in order for the student to receive a free and appropriate education come the fall. That is, without these services the benefits a disabled child gains during the regular school year would be significantly jeopardized if he/she is not provided with an educational program during the summer months. The services are determined by a team made up of the parents, teachers and administrators involved with the students educational program.

Extended School Year Services are based on individual student needs. A team approach is utilized in order to provide the most effective services. Special education teachers, teaching assistants, and related service providers are needed to create a continuum of services and supports in order to maintain critical life skills for the students of Albemarle County with special needs.
