Albemarle County Public Schools will not require a child to obtain a prescription of a controlled substance as a condition for attending school, receiving an evaluation, or receiving special education services. This prohibition does not prevent teachers and other school personnel from sharing with parents their observations of the student's performance or behavior in the classroom or school, or their supporting the need for an evaluation for special education and related services.
